Oh! Jazz, the audiovisual platform dedicated to the world of jazz, has finalized a collaboration with Luce Group, PianoForte Chicago, and Fazioli Pianos to celebrate the first edition of the Chicago Jazz Piano Festival.
The event will kick off on March 29, with two exceptional nights of live Latin jazz by Venezuelan pianist Benito González and Ptah Williams. These evenings will mark the beginning of a series of memorable concerts throughout the year. The festival boasts a unique lineup of 10 of the most prominent pianists from the Latin genre and the Chicago jazz scene.
PianoForte Chicago and its studios will be the venue for this series of concerts, which will continue until November of this year. In addition, the exclusive artisanal piano brand Fazioli will enhance the concert experience by offering their products to the masters performing on stage. Moreover, the entire programming will be available on the Oh! Jazz platform for its users, live and on-demand.
Jesús Perezagua, CEO and founder of Oh! Jazz, expressed his excitement with participating in this unique initiative: “We are delighted to join Jim Luce, with his vast experience as a promoter, and PianoForte as a great venue for this unique initiative from a city with a rich jazz tradition. We are also excited to provide a global audience with this unprecedented selection of pianists in what will surely be a series of unparalleled concerts.”
Jim Luce, founder of Luce Group, added “We are thrilled to start this festival with such jazz luminaries in this exquisitely intimate space in a jazz city like Chicago, and extremely pleased that we can broadcast these special evenings to a global audience.”
The collaboration between the four entities has thus created an event that celebrates the piano in jazz in a city known for its demanding taste and influential jazz scene.
Other great keyboard stars such as David Kikoski, Uri Caine, Elio Villafranca, Miguel de la Cerna, Bethany Pickens, or Laurence Hobgood will be featured at the festival on the confirmed dates: April 26 and 27; May 10 and 11; September 20 and 21; October 25 and 26, and November 29 and 30.
